I have been designing & making glass things for 17 years now. I began with glass painting for friends. Following a stained glass course, with Paul San Casciani in Oxford, my neighbour`s sister gave me a dustbin full of scrap pieces of coloured glass so I was happy as a dragon with a hoard of treasure & spent hours sorting bits.
I made panels for narrowboats,
caravans & a horsedrawn wagon. After moving to Somerset I did more stained glass with Ian
Barton & worked for Shakspeare Glass for a few months as a hot
glass studio assistant. Then Strode College with Richard Pelham
where I started bead making & fusing.
I have just begun engraving.....wonder where this will lead me ?
Wherever I can I recycle glass from broken leaded panels, bottles & mirrors into my work. Also I use broken glass from the beach, flat shells & bits of pottery as well as bits from other glass workers.
